New Vocation Promotions Officer
Archbishop John Bathersby appointed Mr Mark Lysaght to the new position of Vocations Promotions Officer for the Archdiocese of Brisbane, to start in January 2006. This appointment demonstrates the vital importance that the Archbishop places on the promotion of Priesthood and other vocations.
Mark’s roles include raising awareness about vocations – and in particular the call to Diocesan Priesthood, making contact with young men who are considering this call, visiting schools and universities, organising retreat programs, and generally promoting vocations in the Church and wider society.
Mark joins the current Vocations team of Fr Ian Wren (Director of Vocations) and Mr Luke Plant (Vocations Field Officer).
Prior to this appointment, Mark worked as a Team Supervisor with NET Ministries, in which role he supervised teams of young people involved in Catholic evangelistic ministry and coordinated NET's marketing, recruiting and scheduling. Mark is married to Nikki, and has a baby girl Kaiya, born last year. |
